About The Position

Swift Transportation is hiring a Trailer Mechanic in Columbus, Ohio. The mechanic will help keep the company’s fleet safe, reliable, and on the road by maintaining and repairing tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. The role offers hands-on manufacturer training, career advancement opportunities, and work alongside experienced technicians, trainers, and leaders. Pay is $24–$36 per hour based on experience, with incentive pay on weekends. The schedule is Friday through Tuesday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Ability to pass a pre-employment hair follicle drug screen.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Repair and replace truck and trailer components.
Conduct inspections and ensure DOT compliance.
Perform tire repair, maintenance, and failure analysis.
