About The Position

AMX Leasing & Logistics is hiring a Trailer Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, and support equipment. The position is based at 292 Brookview Rd, Statesville, NC 28625. The stated schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and pay is $23.00–$30.00 per hour. Overtime is eligible. The mechanic performs maintenance to applicable OEM, DOT, and KNX specifications; inspects, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs equipment; and disassembles and reassembles heavy truck and trailer components. Work may include refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, axles, and other systems. The role may also involve offsite repairs, minor to mid-level roadside breakdowns, and tire maintenance. Test-driving equipment may be required when certified. Maintaining a clean, safe work environment and assisting others in achieving organizational objectives are also part of the role.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Comprehensive background check.
Pre-employment hair drug screening.
Two years of industry-related experience.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on company-owned tractors, trailers, and support equipment to applicable OEM, DOT, KNX, and other specifications.
Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor and complex equipment repairs.
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components, including refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, axles, and other components or systems.
Perform offsite repairs, including minor to mid-level roadside breakdowns, as directed by leadership.
Perform tire maintenance, including repairs, failure analysis, coding, and identification.
Test-drive equipment when certified, as required.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Proactively assist others in achieving organizational objectives.
