About The Position
Maintains, diagnoses, and repairs trailers used for transporting goods. The role services, inspects, and repairs tractor-trailers and their mechanical, electrical, and other systems. It includes conducting trailer inspections, testing trailers after repairs, and keeping detailed service and maintenance records. The mechanic repairs defective components such as brakes, tires, axles, wiring, and hydraulic systems.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English to perform job tasks, communicate with coworkers and the public, understand instructions and regulations, respond to inquiries, and complete required documents and records.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of trailer mechanic experience.
- Proficiency in diagnostic software.
Responsibilities
- Service, inspect, and repair tractor-trailers.
- Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, and other trailer systems.
- Use hydraulic jacks and hoists to access the underside of trailers.
- Conduct full trailer inspections to identify issues.
- Test trailers after repairs to verify they operate properly.
- Maintain detailed records of service and maintenance activities.
- Repair defective brakes, tires, axles, wiring, and hydraulic systems.
