About The Position

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at its Burlington Township, New Jersey Service Center. The Trailer Mechanic performs diagnostic work, repairs, and overall maintenance of trailers. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with pay of $31.92–$38.37 per hour. Paid time off is available after the first 90 calendar days of employment.

Requirements

Experience performing equipment safety inspections and preparing required safety documents.
Ability to interpret technical manuals.
Experience repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems.
Experience testing equipment for proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulations.
Experience with trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must own personal tools.
Dependability.
Ability to work in varying climate conditions when needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience using the Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
Welding experience.
Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles.
Sheet metal and composite panel repair experience.

Responsibilities

Diagnose trailer issues and perform repair work and overall trailer maintenance.
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by FMCSA, company, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Interpret technical manuals.
Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
Test equipment to verify proper performance and ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and applicable regulations.
Perform trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
