About The Position

RSS Mobile Trailer Repair is hiring an experienced Trailer Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic for a shop position in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. The successful candidate will understand semi-trailer diagnostics and repair, work independently, take a safety-minded approach, and communicate effectively with customers and co-workers. Requirements

• Must be an experienced Trailer Mechanic.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a physical and drug screen.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Safety-minded.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose malfunctions on all trailer systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components.
• Perform regular check-ups and preventive maintenance on trailers and parts, including ABS, air brakes, frame, body, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with other staff to receive, execute, and bill work in a timely and proper manner.
• Help maintain positive working relationships with current customers.
