Requirements

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Emphasis in Traffic Engineering, Planning, and Highway Design courses are a plus
  • 0-2 years’ experience in in traffic/transportation engineering
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred
  • Technical knowledge in traffic engineering with proven experience in preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, and computations
  • Traffic Signal design and signal timing experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
  • Familiar with AutoCAD
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Independent and critical thinking abilities
  • Self-starter who can work independently and with team members

Nice To Haves

  • Emphasis in Traffic Engineering, Planning, and Highway Design courses are a plus
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred
  • Working knowledge of relevant software packages including, Synchro, HCS, Microstation, Corsim, VISSIM is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Establish and monitor adherence to project schedule and budget
  • Provide all necessary coordination and follow-up on the work to ensure quality standards are met, efficiency levels are maintained and client satisfaction, respect and confidence are assured
  • Assist in the development of traffic control device design plans, including traffic signal, signing, pavement marking, lighting and ITS plans
  • Create clear, concise technical reports and high quality drawings, primarily using AutoCAD
  • Perform field duties outside of the office in support of projects, including traffic data collection and field verifications of existing and proposed traffic control device installations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
