Role Overview:Traffic Signal Technician installs, maintains, programs and repairs traffic control devices. Example traffic signals, pedestrian signals, vehicle detection systems and traffic malfunction units to name a few. Responsible for preventative maintenance on signal cabinets, general upkeep of state-maintained signals/flashers. Responding to emergency call outs for signals or winter operations. Being on call is a job requirement. Working in various weather conditions, long hours and overtime are also all requirements. Electrical experience a plus, on the job training provided. Bucket work required. Ideal candidate will be a self-starter who takes initiative, manages priorities, handles high stress environments well and is able to complete tasks independently. Training and completion of the INDOT District Signal Technician Training Certification is provided & required.
