This position is accountable for the development, coordination and evaluation of experimental traffic control products; the preparation and distribution of special Bureau of Operations maps, both on-line and hard copy; assistance with updating the Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) on-line Road Construction Map; maintaining the Designated Truck Route Map; developing Illinois specific highway sign standards; issuing blanket bonds for access and utility permits; providing Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) support to the Bureau of Operations; assisting with traffic engineering studies; and publication and distribution of manuals, booklets, reports, policies, and maps for the Bureau of Operations. The IDOT team works diligently to provide safe, cost-effective transportation for Illinois in ways that enhance quality of life, promote economic prosperity and protect our environment.
