Assist engineering by designing, testing, fabricating, and/or troubleshooting a process, system, assembly, or product. This role involves assisting engineering and coordinating with internal teams on various products and processes, including engineering specifications, drawings, models, manuals, processes, or bills of materials. The position requires researching and selecting technical data, working with internal and external sources to obtain and communicate data, and potentially being involved in the bid process. Responsibilities include writing test plans, conducting tests, documenting results, and preparing technical reports. The role may also involve customer interaction for installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, or repair, maintaining a safe work area, and performing comparable duties as needed. A key aspect is learning, understanding, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards, and leading or participating in department improvement activities. Troubleshooting for areas of opportunity, compliance, and implementation issues is expected, along with developing and recommending test procedures. The role may facilitate minor design projects with engineering assistance from concept through production, defining technical approaches, and having critical project technical leadership responsibility, potentially delegating work to lower-level technicians. This position also requires knowledge of the business side and contribution to strategic decisions, with the possibility of performing limited engineering work.
