About The Position

The Traffic Expeditor will coordinate and track customer inbound and outbound delivery safely, efficiently, and timely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent required
  • Basic knowledge of freight process
  • Beginner MS Office experience (Excel, Outlook), Internet and database programs
  • Basic data entry skills
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills to prepare and assign routes
  • Strong leadership skills to ensure drivers compliance with direction and assignments
  • Basic understanding of the geographical area and mapping programs to facilitate efficient routing
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn dispatch and recordkeeping systems
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of three (3) years experience as a traffic dispatcher or truck broker preferred
  • Previous experience moving product by the truckload and LTL (Less than truckload) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Routes outgoing shipments through various means of transportation, following standard procedures.
  • Oversees equipment availability and helps secure carriers when needed.
  • Anticipates weather complications along routes and at the driver's destinations; communicates delays and route changes as necessary.
  • Maintains contact with carriers; receives and dispatches response and emergency aid when needed.
  • Maintains and reviews billing and operation records; monitors daily logs for errors and or compliance violations.
  • Tracks customer inbound and outbound shipments online.
  • Schedules loading and unloading appointments with carriers if needed.
  • Follow-ups with carriers to ensure timely delivery of the product.
  • Processes freight claims.
  • Runs customer compliance and other necessary reports from the database system.
  • Reviews processes and systems for potential inefficiencies and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
