Traffic Control Flagger
About The Position
Flagger Force is hiring Traffic Control Flaggers, also called Crew Members, to help protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians in active work zones. The company provides traffic-control services across the eastern United States. Crew Members are dispatched directly from home to job sites and work with Crew Leaders to set up and maintain work zones. The role offers hands-on experience and opportunities to advance into leadership and other roles. The listed pay range is $17.75–$19.75 per hour. The position involves outdoor work and requires availability Monday through Friday, with starts as early as 6 a.m. and work extending into the late afternoon. Overtime may be available in the evenings, on weekends, and on holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle; employees must drive themselves to and from job sites. Ride-sharing and drop-offs are not permitted.
- Satisfactory driving record that meets company vehicle driving requirements, verified through a Motor Vehicle Record review.
- Availability Monday through Friday, as early as 6 a.m. through late afternoon.
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours, walk 1–2 miles per day, lift up to 30–50 pounds, and work outdoors in various conditions.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability.
- Must obtain steel-toe or composite-toe boots that lace above the ankles and are at least 6 inches high.
- Use approved two-way radios.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain safe temporary traffic-control work zones.
- Control traffic flow to protect motorists, pedestrians, and clients.
- Work as part of a team to support safety and efficiency at job sites.
- Assist Crew Leaders with setting up and maintaining work zones.
