About The Position

As a Protector, you work with a team at job sites to help manage traffic safely. No prior experience or degree is needed; training and support are provided. The work is outdoors year-round in all weather, and shifts may change based on job needs. Some nights, weekends, or emergency work may be required. You may stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift. The employer provides a hard hat, safety goggles, safety vest, safety whistle, walkie-talkie, and hot- and cold-weather gear. Employees must provide their own above-the-ankle steel-toe safety boots. Pay is $16.50–$17.25 per hour, with overtime available and pay increases during the first year. Paid training and a traffic safety certificate are provided. Eligible employees may receive the listed benefits. Promotion opportunities include Senior Protector, Lead Protector, Field Supervisor, and manager roles.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
Flexible schedule and ability to show up on time for every shift.
Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules at all times.
Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.
Provide own steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Responsibilities

Set up and take down cones, signs, barricades, and other traffic control equipment.
Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic.
Watch traffic and job-site activity.
Follow all safety rules taught in training.
Communicate with the crew and supervisor.
Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
