About The Position
Flagger Force is hiring Traffic Control Flaggers (Crew Members) to protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians in active work zones. The company provides traffic control services across the eastern United States. Crew Members are dispatched directly from home to job sites and work with Crew Leaders to set up and maintain safe work zones. The role is suited to people who enjoy outdoor, team-based work and variety, and who want to contribute to community safety and infrastructure development. The position offers a stated pay range of $16.50–$18.50 per hour, paid in-house training, and opportunities to advance into leadership and other roles. Advancement to Crew Leader may be possible in as little as 30–90 days. Employees must be available Monday through Friday, starting as early as 6 a.m. and working into the late afternoon. Overtime may be available in the evenings, on weekends, and on holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle; employees must drive themselves to and from job sites, as ride-sharing and drop-offs are not permitted.
- Satisfactory driving record meeting company vehicle driving requirements, verified through a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
- Availability Monday through Friday, as early as 6 a.m. through the late afternoon.
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours, walk 1–2 miles per day, lift up to 30–50 pounds, and work outdoors in various conditions.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability.
- Obtain steel-toe or composite-toe boots that lace above the ankles and are at least 6 inches high.
- Approved two-way radios.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain safe temporary traffic control work zones.
- Control traffic flow to protect motorists, pedestrians, and clients.
- Work as part of a team to help ensure safety and efficiency on job sites.
- Assist Crew Leaders with setting up and maintaining work zones.
