Traffic Control Flagger
About The Position
Flagger Force is hiring Traffic Control Flaggers, also called Crew Members, to help protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians in active work zones. The company provides traffic control services across the eastern United States. Crew Members are dispatched from home directly to job sites and work with Crew Leaders to set up and maintain work zones. This outdoor, team-based role involves guiding traffic safely using appropriate equipment and communication. It offers hands-on experience in the traffic control industry and potential advancement to Crew Leader in as little as 30–90 days, with further opportunities in training, safety, supervision, and management. The role supports public safety and infrastructure development.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required; employees must drive themselves to and from job sites. Ride-sharing and drop-offs are not permitted.
- Satisfactory driving record that meets company vehicle driving requirements, verified through a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
- Availability Monday through Friday, with work starting as early as 6 a.m. and continuing into the late afternoon.
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours, walk 1–2 miles per day, lift up to 30–50 pounds, and work outdoors in various conditions.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability.
- Must obtain steel-toe or composite-toe boots that lace above the ankles and are at least 6 inches in height.
- Approved two-way radios.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain safe temporary traffic control work zones.
- Control traffic flow to protect motorists, pedestrians, and clients.
- Work as part of a team to support safety and efficiency at job sites.
- Assist Crew Leaders with setting up and maintaining work zones.
- Guide traffic safely through work zones using appropriate equipment and communication.
