About The Position

Highway Safety Services (HSS), a Helix Traffic Solutions company, provides traffic control, pavement marking, and work zone safety services throughout Indiana. The Traffic Control Flagger performs duties related to roadway signing and traffic control projects. On-the-job training will be provided. The role is performed on-site and is full-time, with a pay range of $15–$30 per hour.

Requirements

Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time each day.
Dependable transportation to and from the job site.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high and low temperatures.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training is preferred; training may be provided during employment.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
Set and maintain traffic control throughout project duration, ensuring devices remain in proper location and working condition.
Install prefabricated directional and informational signs by hoisting them into place and fastening them to frameworks.
Read and work from plans to accurately locate, drive posts, and position signs.
Perform related signing work, including delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours.
Service, maintain, and repair equipment and traffic control devices as needed.
