About The Position

As a Protector, you work with a team at job sites to help manage traffic safely. No experience or degree is needed; training and support are provided. The work is outdoors year-round and may take place in changing weather. Shifts may vary based on job needs, and some nights, weekends, or emergency work may be required. You may stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift.

The company provides a hard hat, safety goggles, safety vest, safety whistle, walkie-talkie, and hot- and cold-weather gear. You must provide your own steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle. This is a safety-sensitive job requiring a pre-hire screening, including a drug test.

Pay is $18.36–$20.07 per hour. Overtime is available, pay increases during the first year, and paid training includes a traffic safety certificate. Eligible employees may have access to on-demand pay; PTO and benefit details are provided by the Union.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule and ability to show up on time for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules at all times.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.
• Provide steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades, and take traffic control equipment down.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic.
• Watch traffic and job site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with the crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
