About The Position

As a Protector, you work with a team at job sites to help keep traffic and work areas safe. No experience or degree is needed; training and support are provided. The work is outdoors year-round in all weather and may involve changing shifts based on job needs, including some nights, weekends, or emergency work. You may stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift. The employer provides a hard hat, safety goggles, safety vest, safety whistle, walkie-talkie, and cold- and hot-weather gear. Employees must provide their own steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
Flexible schedule and ability to show up on time for every shift.
Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
Must provide own steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Responsibilities

Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take traffic control equipment down.
Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and watch traffic and job-site activity.
Follow all safety rules taught in training.
Communicate with the crew and supervisor.
Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
Remain alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules at all times.
Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.
