About The Position

AWP Safety is hiring an entry-level Traffic Control Flagger/Barricade Setter for outdoor work in varied environments. The position establishes and maintains safe work zones, manages traffic flow, and supports the safety of team members, clients, motorists, and pedestrians. Training and support are provided, with opportunities to progress into senior, lead, field supervisor, or manager roles.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Two years of outdoor labor experience.
Experience driving.
Ability to stand for 8–12 hours a day.
Ability to work in varied weather conditions and traffic settings.
Ability to repeatedly lift at least 50 pounds and move or travel long distances within work zones.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to read and understand instructions, plans, and maps of work-zone locations.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
Excellent attendance and dependable transportation.
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
ATSSA Flagger Certification required.
Must pass pre-employment screenings, including a drug test.

Responsibilities

Set up barricades, cones, signage, and related equipment to establish safe work zones.
Drive to and from designated work zones with the equipment needed for the job.
Manage traffic flow using stop/slow paddles.
Collaborate with team members to maintain safety and provide service to clients.
Document and communicate equipment use and setup locations with dispatch, operations, and customers.
Maintain job sites and equipment and follow The AWP Safety Way.
Read and follow plans and instructions, and make field adjustments to keep work zones safe.
Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.
Wear required personal protective equipment.
