Traffic Control Flagger
About The Position
Flagger Force is hiring Traffic Control Flaggers, also called Crew Members, to help protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians in active work zones. The role involves guiding traffic safely using appropriate equipment and communication, and assisting Crew Leaders with setting up and maintaining work zones. Crew Members are dispatched directly from home to job sites across the eastern United States. This is an outdoor, team-oriented role with varied workdays and a direct contribution to public safety and infrastructure development. The stated pay range is $16.50–$18.50 per hour. Advancement may be available in as little as 30–90 days, with opportunities to progress into crew leadership, training, safety, supervisory, and management roles. Promotional and training development bonuses are also offered.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle; employees must drive themselves to and from job sites, as ride-sharing and drop-offs are not permitted.
- Satisfactory driving record meeting company vehicle driving requirements, verified through a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
- Availability Monday through Friday, with work starting as early as 6 a.m. and continuing into the late afternoon.
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours, walk 1–2 miles per day, lift up to 30–50 pounds, and work outdoors in various conditions.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability.
- Must obtain steel-toe or composite-toe boots that lace above the ankles and are at least 6 inches in height.
- Use approved two-way radios.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain safe temporary traffic control work zones.
- Control traffic flow to protect motorists, pedestrians, and clients.
- Work as part of a team to promote safety and efficiency on job sites.
- Assist Crew Leaders in setting up and maintaining work zones.
