About The Position

G & W Products is a leader in contract metal manufacturing and fabrication. Founded in 1968, our areas of expertise include metal stamping, laser cutting, fabrication, manual and robotic welding, tool and die work, powder coating and assembly. Our modern facilities include 190,000 square feet of manufacturing space between three facilities located in Fairfield, OH. We specialize in numerous industries including construction, transportation, energy, and defense. We are seeking a Traffic Control Clerk to join our team. This is a 1st shift position located at our Fairfield, OH warehouse. This role is essential to our freight, shipment, and traffic operations, ensuring all transportation activities are efficient, accurate, and compliant with regulations. The Traffic Control Clerk plays a vital administrative and operational role, tracking and coordinating shipments, maintaining precise records, processing documentation, and communicating with vendors, carriers, and customers. You will support both office and warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or traffic management.
  • Knowledge of traffic or transportation regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required.
  • Previous forklift certification required and must pass G&W forklift certification within two weeks of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Track and document movement of goods, vehicles, or freight, including inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Process and prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, permits, and invoices.
  • Coordinate scheduling and routing to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records in our inventory management systems.
  • Communicate with drivers, vendors, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues or adjust shipments as needed.
  • Provide customer service regarding tracking, delays, or shipping inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation and traffic regulations.
  • Monitor and report on traffic patterns, shipment status, and logistics costs to support decision-making.
