About The Position

The Traffic Clerk leads and trains a team responsible for compiling and maintaining records of inbound and outbound shipments. The role plans and directs driver assignments, including checking drivers in, assigning doors, and checking them out when loads are complete. It serves as a liaison between operations and transportation to help ensure shipping and receiving documents are completed accurately and on time, and works with those teams on reports and issue follow-up. The position is at Lineage’s Hazleton, Pennsylvania location, with a listed shift option of Monday through Thursday, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Requirements

• Basic math skills may be required at some facilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external customers; English may be required.
• Proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20°F/-25°C in cold storage sites or up to 100°F/37°C in dry storage sites while wearing company-provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear may be required at some facilities.
• May be required to lift a minimum of 20 lbs./9 kgs.; weight may be more depending on the facility.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.
• Must be comfortable with various noise levels, which can at times be loud.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and direct the work of a Traffic Clerk team.
• Ensure the team provides timely follow-up on issues or concerns.
• Act as a liaison between operations and transportation to verify shipping and receiving documents are completed accurately and on time.
• Partner with operations and transportation to prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports, if applicable.
• Communicate concerns and route reports to appropriate team members.
• Provide ongoing training to team members as needed.
• Compile and maintain records of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Plan and direct driver assignments, including checking drivers in, assigning doors, and checking them out once loads are complete.
