(ASD-W) - Tradesworker I - Electrician - Permanent
About The Position
This is skilled work at the journeyperson level in one or more building trades. Work involves the maintenance and repair of buildings, machinery, and equipment. This is a customer service-oriented position and requires working both alone and as part of a team and closely with school staff to solve issues and ensure operational requirements are met. The employee must possess a journeyperson certificate in one or more trades and is required to work at the journeyperson level. Work will involve general maintenance as well as work related to the trade in which the employee possesses a journeyperson certificate. The employee may maintain records of stock of building materials and supplies and requisition materials and supplies for repair and maintenance projects. Work assignments are received verbally or by written instructions which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams. Performance is reviewed by a designated superior through discussions, observations, inspections, reports, and overall results achieved for conformance with established standards. Other related responsibilities may be assigned, as necessary.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school, or GED.
- Considerable diversified experience at the journeyperson level in the applicable trade.
- Ability to operate a computer and appropriate software programs.
- Possession of a valid journeyperson certificate in the applicable trade as issued by the New Brunswick Department of Training and Employment Development.
- Ability to demonstrate essential qualifications.
- Willingness to provide a criminal record check.
- Willingness to travel throughout Anglophone West School District.
- Willingness to provide own motor vehicle for travelling in the performance of regular duties.
