About The Position

CIMT College is seeking a reliable and competent Trades Program Coordinator to join their team. This role is integral to maintaining the accreditation of Trades programs and will involve teaching students the competencies required in skilled trades, specifically in Renovations and Cabinetry. The coordinator will manage administrative and program tasks, plan and organize activities, and ensure the effective management of accredited Trades programs according to organizational standards.

Requirements

Must fulfill all the requirements of a Trades program coordinator as per CIMT College
Must be hands on with the tools and equipment
Excellent communication and organization abilities
Working knowledge and hands on experience with MS office and AutoCAD
Must be detail oriented
Focused on day to day tasks as assigned
Excellent time management skills
5+ years of work experience in the Trades industry
Associate Degree/Diploma from an accredited trade school of Studies is required or have equivalent experience
Experience in trades education, program coordination, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of hands on experience in teaching
Strong understanding of trades industries and current trends.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, students, and industry partners.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations applicable to trades programs.
Proficiency in office software, AutoCAD and technology tools for program management.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the trades programs, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to college policies.
Coordinate class schedules, faculty assignments, and program resources.
Monitor program budgets and manage expenses.
Ensure sufficient supplies are available for the successful delivery of all cohorts.
Work with faculty to develop new programs and courses, and update curriculum to reflect industry trends and technological advancements.
Ensure programs meet accreditation standards and industry requirements.
Develop and implement assessment methods to evaluate program effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
Provide guidance and support to faculty members, including assistance with instructional materials, teaching strategies, and professional development.
Coordinate faculty meetings and training sessions to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
Assist in the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of faculty.
Be available to substitute for instructors to avoid class cancellations.
Ensure timely submission of course completion reports and completion of class feedback by students.
Serve as a point of contact for students in the trades programs, addressing academic and administrative concerns.
Develop and implement student support services, such as tutoring, career counseling, and job placement assistance.
Organize program-related events, workshops, and industry visits to enhance the student experience.
Establish and maintain relationships with industry partners, employers, and trade associations.
Coordinate internships, apprenticeships, and co-op placements for students.
Engage with industry stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure program relevance.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all trades program activities and facilities.
Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues or concerns.
Maintain accurate records related to compliance and safety.
