About The Position

The Trade Substitute Instructor provides career technical instruction using approved curricula at the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center in Morganfield, Kentucky. The instructor provides training, basic guidance, and direction to help students achieve their academic goals. The schedule is as needed, Monday through Friday, and the wage is $137.36 per day.

Requirements

• A substitute teaching certification or license, as required by the state of employment.
• Two years of work-related experience in the designated career training area.
• Willingness to obtain the OSHA 10 credential within the first 90 days of employment, if needed.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training, personal problems, and study habits.
• Coordinate with counselors and staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, and recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe training environment.
