About The Position
Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM) is seeking a Trade Journeyperson Mechanic to join their team in Service Area 26 (Skeena), Terrace, B.C. The role involves keeping winter and summer fleets mission-ready by diagnosing and repairing trucks and heavy equipment, performing preventative maintenance, completing inspections and documentation, and supporting apprentices. EAM is the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) highway and bridge maintenance contractor for three service areas in British Columbia and has a long history of delivering reliable road and bridge maintenance. Requirements
- Valid BC Class 3 driver’s licence with Air Brake endorsement and a clean abstract.
- Experience as a Service Technician or with heavy equipment.
- Completion of a registered apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience to the full apprenticeship term.
- Comfortable working outdoors around heavy machinery; physically fit for labour-intensive tasks, including lifting.
- Able to safely operate hand and power tools; mentally alert and safety-focused with a commitment to safe work practices.
- Clear, professional communicator and strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Proven problem-solving skills and willingness to mentor/support apprentices.
Nice To Haves
- Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.
- Perform service repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Replace and/or repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
- Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction.
- Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate reports.
- Perform other tasks as required.
