About The Position

This role supports Toro’s U.S. import and export operations by executing and continuously improving trade compliance processes. The Trade Compliance Specialist serves as a key operational and compliance resource, working cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant movement of goods while mitigating regulatory and financial risk. This position operates with increased autonomy and responsibility compared to entry-level roles.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in import/export operations or international trade compliance
  • Minimum of 3+ years in import/export operations
  • Ability and skill with multitasking in a fast paced and constantly changing regulatory environment
  • Proven ability to analyze situations and take effective and accurate actions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage large workload while prioritizing and organizing tasks
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing company is a plus
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, business administration, or similar preferred
  • Knowledge of U.S. and partner government agency (PGA) requirements preferred
  • Experience with trade compliance such as Oracle GTM, E2Open or similar systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily import operations including responding to inquiries, resolving entry issues, validating data accuracy, and ensuring timely customs clearance.
  • Serve as primary operational point of contact for broker escalations and performance issues.
  • Monitor and manage customs broker performance and relationships through monthly scorecards and regular business reviews.
  • Oversee broker performance, compliance, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Perform audits of U.S. customs entries to identify errors, plan for revisions, and coordinate corrective actions with brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Actively maintain import entry and trade data repositories, ensuring information is updated in a timely and accurate manner and is readily available for reporting and analysis.
  • Audit, process, log, and assign appropriate Toro account numbers to customs broker invoices; support accurate allocation of duties, taxes, and fees to appropriate cost centers.
  • Administer and maintain the trade compliance recordkeeping program, ensuring required documentation is complete, accurate, readily accessible, and retained in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Create, maintain, and update documented procedures supporting U.S. import/export operations; identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Educate and support internal customers on U.S. import/export requirements, broker processes, and data accuracy expectations.
