About The Position

Owens Corning is seeking a Global Trade Operations Analyst, a high-impact role reporting to the Global Trade Operations Leader. This position combines trade expertise, data analytics, innovation, process design, and cross-functional collaboration. The role focuses on driving compliance and efficiency in North American Trade Operations and supporting the broader global trade strategy. The analyst will build strategic partnerships with customs brokers, governing agencies, and internal/external stakeholders, aligning trade strategy with business goals and operational execution. Success requires creativity, innovation, and a problem-solving approach, leveraging technology and data for decision-making and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a licensed customs broker with expertise in US and Canadian global trade regulations and data analytics, passionate about trade, analytical, data-driven, curious, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in global trade compliance, logistics, or international operations.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience across both import and export compliance activities.
  • Experience working directly with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and multiple government agencies.
  • Experience operating in a cross-functional, matrixed, multinational environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of customs regulations, valuation, origin, classification, export controls, recordkeeping, and audit requirements.
  • Ability to analyze complex trade data and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with trade management systems, ERP platforms, and data analysis tools (Data staging, visualization, insights).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to audit-quality execution.
  • Effective communicator capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High integrity, accountability, and ownership mindset.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operational relationships with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal control requirements.
  • Support broker and forwarder performance management, including KPI tracking, scorecards, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate new broker engagement, lane transitions, and onboarding activities, including system access, process alignment, and documentation readiness.
  • Execute and oversee import and export activities in compliance with applicable customs laws, export control regulations, and other government agency requirements.
  • Serve as an operational point of contact with government authorities such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), and other applicable agencies.
  • Support responses to government inquiries, audits, verifications, and requests for information in coordination with Trade leadership, Trade Data, Legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-entry and post-export reviews to validate accuracy of customs declarations, including valuation, classification, origin, licensing, and special program usage.
  • Identify errors or discrepancies, perform structured root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive action recommendations, prepare post-summary corrections or amendments, and coordinate required corrective filings.
  • Analyze audit metrics to identify systemic and recurring issues, leading improvement projects that strengthen broker performance, business execution, and overall compliance scores.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable improvements that reduce risk and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation, records, and evidence to support internal controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze trade, broker, and financial data to identify trends, compliance risks, cost drivers, and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop analytical insights, reports, and dashboards that support leadership visibility, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  • Support duty management, reconciliation activities, and financial reporting related to trade operations.
  • Review, validate, and approve customs broker and freight forwarder invoices to ensure accuracy, rate compliance, and proper billing.
  • Support reconciliation programs and ensure appropriate application and monitoring of customs bonds.
  • Monitor bond sufficiency and coordinate renewals or adjustments in collaboration with Trade leadership and finance.
  • Deliver functional and process-based training to internal stakeholders including warehouse operations, sales, sourcing, tax, finance, logistics, and planning teams.
  • Act as a subject-matter resource for day-to-day trade questions, issue resolution, and operational guidance.
  • Promote awareness of trade compliance requirements, controls, and roles across the organization.
  • Support trade process mapping, documentation, and standardization initiatives.
  • Lead or support onboarding new trade lanes, including process design, risk assessment, broker readiness, and control implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and scale trade processes through technology and improved workflows.
