About The Position

PRIDE Industries is recruiting a Tractor Operator for an onsite position at a customer’s location. The role is part of a federal AbilityOne contract, which requires most work hours to be performed by employees with disabilities; this position must be filled by a person with a disability due to program requirements. The work is performed at job sites in a construction environment and may involve travel between facilities and work locations, as well as work in confined spaces. The role has no direct reports. Pay is $23.00 per hour.

Requirements

• One or more years of experience operating tractors or similar heavy equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions and instructions.
• Ability to follow established tractor-operator safety rules, maintain a safe environment, respond appropriately to potentially hazardous conditions, and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and build effective working relationships with coworkers and customers.
• Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and common-sense skills.
• A valid driver's license may be required depending on local, state, or contract requirements.
• Due to federal AbilityOne program requirements, this position must be filled by a person with a disability.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor to move materials, draw implements, tow trailers, and pull objects embedded in the ground.
• Use a winch cable to raise, lower, or load heavy materials or equipment.
• Attach equipment such as graders, plows, rollers, mowers, backhoes, seeders, or disc harrows to a tractor.
• Monitor and review equipment, structures, materials, events, and the environment to detect and assess problems; identify causes and evaluate possible solutions.
• Follow procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.
• Lubricate and make minor repairs to tractors and attachments, as needed.
• Inspect tractors and equipment according to company requirements to ensure they operate properly and are in safe condition.
• Perform grounds maintenance laborer duties when required.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
