Tracking Architecture Performance Engineer - Senior Member of Technical Staff

The Aerospace Corporation•El Segundo, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Tracking Architecture Performance Engineer for its Tracking Architecture Performance Department (TAPD), part of the Enterprise Effects Division’s Integrated Performance Subdivision. TAPD conducts model-based analyses of tracking performance across architecture scenarios in nominal and contested environments, supporting customers through concept development, engineering analysis, algorithm development, and evaluation of tracking performance. Its mission areas include missile defense, space domain awareness, and surveillance, across radar, electro-optical, infrared, electronic warfare, and other single- and multi-INT architectures. In this technical role, you will collaborate with department staff and engineers across the corporation on modeling, simulation, and analysis projects. The work involves evaluating complex, multi-domain, system-of-systems architectures and developing methods, algorithms, simulations, and visualizations to assess and improve tracking performance. The position is full-time and requires 100% onsite work in El Segundo, Colorado Springs, Huntsville, or Chantilly. Occasional travel and/or work outside business hours may be required to support customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related discipline.
  • For the Senior Member of Technical Staff role: at least 4 years of applicable professional experience leading technical teams and coordinating complex modeling and analysis tasks.
  • For the Engineering Specialist role: at least 6 years of applicable professional experience leading technical teams and coordinating complex modeling and analysis tasks.
  • Knowledge of tracking algorithms, multi-target tracking, and tracking performance assessment.
  • Current and active TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and/or work outside business hours as required to support customer needs.
