Track Laborer - Part Time (Harrah's Hoosier Park)
About The Position
Maintains and repairs the racetrack surfaces and physical structures. Ensures all equipment to be used during the assigned shift is ready for use. Operates water truck, tractors, backhoe, spreader truck. Washes equipment. Repairs pylons and fence as needed. Assists with equipment repair and maintenance. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment such as changing oil, replenishing fluids, etc. Refuels vehicles. Removes and replaces rail as required. Performs minor carpentry work. Performs minor welding repairs. Performs snow removal for all areas of Hoosier Park. Assists Landscaping staff when required. Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Responsible for fostering a fun environment

- Must be licensed by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
