About The Position

MG+M The Law Firm is currently hiring experienced Litigation Paralegals to join our Toxic Tort practice group in any of our four California offices: Irvine, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Walnut Creek. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters. The firm's expertise is diverse but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in Toxic Tort Defense litigation is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and/or File & Serve Xpress.
  • Attendance & Punctuality: Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Customer service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
  • Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
  • Draft, proofread, and finalize pleadings, discovery requests and responses (including Judicial Council form interrogatories, special interrogatories, and requests for production), and other litigation documents under attorney supervision.
  • Coordinate deposition logistics for plaintiffs, co-defendants, treating physicians, and expert witnesses, including scheduling, exhibit preparation, and travel arrangements, often on compressed timelines.
  • Review, index, and summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, employment and product identification records, and expert reports.
  • Track and manage document productions, including coordination with document review platforms.
  • Assist with preparation of expert witness materials, including exposure summaries, product identification charts, and Cal-OSHA/industrial hygiene-related exhibits, as applicable.
  • Liaise with co-defense counsel, defense/plaintiff liaison counsel, insurance carriers, and court personnel common in coordinated toxic tort proceedings.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, including product identification research, corporate history research, and case law relevant to exposure and causation defenses.
  • Contemporaneous accounting and submission of personal billable time.
