About The Position

Stepp’s Towing & Heavy Transport is hiring a Light Duty Tow Operator to respond to accidents, vehicle breakdowns, and roadside emergencies in the Tampa area. Drivers communicate with motorists, perform minor repairs or tow vehicles to repair facilities, safely secure and transport vehicles, and remove vehicles parked in unauthorized locations. The role offers assigned trucks without slip seating; drivers must provide their own set of tools once assigned a truck. Tow-truck operation training is provided. Compensation is commission-based at 30%, not a salary-paid position. Five-day and six-day work weeks are available, and weekends are mandatory.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of verifiable commercial motor vehicle driving experience.
• Current DOT Medical Card required before the first day of work.
• Clean driving record for at least the past 3 years.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Must provide a personal set of tools once assigned a truck.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, crawling, pulling, constant use of hands, bending, reaching, and climbing; significant physical strength and stamina are required.
• Positive attitude, strong customer service skills, effective problem-solving abilities, and openness to growth and challenges.

Nice To Haves

• Prior towing experience or experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
