About The Position

The Tow Truck Driver uses a truck to transport vehicles between locations. The role includes inspecting the vehicle and truck before and after trips, assisting with loading and unloading, and following applicable driving regulations and company procedures. The schedule is five days per week, Monday through Friday, with an eight-hour day.

Requirements

Proven work experience as a truck driver.
Ability to drive trucks and tow trailers.
Knowledge of applicable truck-driving rules and regulations.
No recent moving or driving violations within the last three years.
Ability to adapt and anticipate unexpected situations, such as traffic and weather conditions.
Willingness to submit to background and drug checks.
Physical dexterity and good hand-eye-foot coordination.
Mechanical aptitude.
Awareness of and ability to adhere to safety standards at all times.
Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Availability to work a five-day work week.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Transport vehicles over land between points of origin and destination.
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
Document and log work and rest periods and driving mileage; retain fuel and toll receipts.
Comply with truck-driving rules and regulations, including those covering size, weight, route designations, parking, and breaks, as well as company policies and procedures.
Maneuver the truck into loading and unloading positions.
Collect and verify delivery instructions.
Inspect the tow truck for mechanical issues and safety concerns, and perform preventative maintenance.
Report defects, accidents, and violations.
Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
Perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
