TOUR Ambassador

OSU Rec Sports - Sport. Leadership. Wellness.•Corvallis, OR

About The Position

The Office of Admissions at Oregon State University employs currently enrolled undergraduate students as paid TOUR (Team of Undergraduate Recruiters) Ambassadors. Ambassadors are often the first point of contact for prospective students and families and help create a warm, welcoming campus visit experience for people from a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences. The Welcome Center serves nearly 34,000 campus visitors each year. Ambassadors lead in-person and virtual campus and housing tours, student panels, and group visits; support large visit programs and recruitment events; and share information about OSU’s academic programs, campuses, and student support resources. They also staff Welcome Center office hours, respond to phone and email inquiries, check in visiting families, and share their own experiences to help prospective students make admissions decisions. Some may have opportunities to attend off-campus or multicultural-focused recruitment events. This is a part-time student position with a maximum of 24 hours per week. Student employees typically work 4–20 hours per week on a flexible schedule arranged around academic priorities. Work is generally Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work for admissions events. Paid training is provided and required. New ambassadors train weekly from February through May, and all ambassadors attend required annual fall training the week before fall term begins.
