About The Position

The Topstitch - Leather role is in the Manufacturing department at Plant 5 in Conover. The position operates a topstitch (double needle) machine to follow blind seams on cushions and flatwork. The work is performed in a fast-paced production environment, sewing parts for cushion and flatwork jobs to meet the production schedule while maintaining efficiency and quality standards. Other duties may be assigned. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional Fridays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The company describes this as a full-time position offering consistent 40–45 hours per week, no Saturdays, and a benefits package that includes free access to a healthcare clinic starting on day one for employees and their spouses and children, plus two company-wide shutdown weeks.

Requirements

At least 2 years of furniture topstitch (double needle) sewing experience.
Ability to work full time.
Effective communication skills.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to lift, handle, or carry more than 25 pounds.
Ability to sit for long periods.
Ability to work independently.

LEAN Manufacturing experience.
