The specific courses under consideration are NR-718: Topics in Advanced Practice Leadership I, where students actualize their role within specific APRN specialties and translate evidence to improve healthcare quality and safety, and NR-719: Topics in Advanced Practice Leadership II, where students examine the leadership and practice change role of the APRN, focusing on strategies, negotiations, and collaborative communication to transform healthcare systems through evidence-based initiatives. Chamberlain is looking for passionate individuals dedicated to advancing nursing careers through education.

Requirements

  • MSN and DNP or MSN and PHD in Nursing degree is required.
  • Must have an active nursing license (Compact/Multi-State RN License required).
  • 2+ years experience teaching online graduate level didactic courses required (excluding precepting).
  • APRN license & certification required.
  • Must have required subject matter expertise and outstanding written communication skills and familiar with APA.
  • Must have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Solid written skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively in an online environment a must.
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet.

Nice To Haves

  • teaching graduate leadership courses preferred.
  • Clinical leadership with grant writing experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses.
  • Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Covista syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Benefits

  • The expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
