About The Position

Chamberlain University is seeking industry professionals with high standards, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing practitioner-focused education to teach doctoral students on a course-by-course basis. This is a 100% online teaching position, offering flexibility and convenience. The specific course is NR-715: Scientific Underpinnings, which focuses on the scientific foundations of nursing practice, evidence-based interventions, the global burden of disease, and various research methodologies. Requirements

  • MSN and DNP or MSN and PHD in Nursing degree is required.
  • Must have an active nursing license (Compact/Multi-State RN License required).
  • 2+ years experience teaching online graduate level didactic courses required (excluding precepting).
  • Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses.
  • Must have required subject matter expertise and outstanding written communication skills and familiar with APA.
  • Must have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Solid written skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively in an online environment a must.
  • Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
