About The Position

This role involves performing repairs, maintenance, and operation of machinery and equipment. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles, the ability to use various tools and machinery, and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The mechanic will be responsible for both routine maintenance and complex repairs, as well as operating machine tools to fabricate parts to precise specifications.

Requirements

Previous experience operating machinery (i.e., mills, lathes, or routers)
Working knowledge of machinery and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate effectively in the English language
Ability to handle complaints and resolve issues using decision-making and analytical abilities
Strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and ability to professionally complete tasks
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment as directed by management
Perform routine machine maintenance such as lubricating, oiling, cleaning, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs
Dismantle machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs using various hand tools as directed by management
Reassemble equipment after completion of the inspection, testing, or repairs
Record production, repair, and machinery maintenance information
Set up and operate manual machine tools such as lathes, drill press, grinder, hand tools, etc. to cut, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and measuring instruments including micrometers, height gauges, measuring tapes, etc.
Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of molds based on customer specifications
Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts to conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and other products
Assemble molds and fixtures
Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary
Ensure work assignments are carried out to the highest quality ensuring customer quality and company needs are met
