About The Position

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) has an exciting opportunity for a Tooling Mechanic to support the Tooling Team in Berkeley, MO! This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is a union-represented position. This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinist (IAM 837) Collective Bargaining Agreement. The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned. New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required. The candidate must be able to work any shift assigned. This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ of experience working in a tool fabrication environment.
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • Must be able to work any shift, as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Aerospace tool fabrication
  • Certificate or Degree or Technical Trade School Certificate (Or appropriate apprenticeship completion)
  • 1+ years’ of experience in programming & operating CNC machinery
  • Experience with Software (MasterCAM, NX, Verisurf, etc.)
  • Experience using manual inspection and CPU driven equipment such Laser Trackers

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, maintain, modify, & install various forms of tooling, such as large and small engineering test fixtures, fabrication equipment, etc. in collaboration with engineering design teams
  • Utilize manual equipment to fabricate or modify various tooling components (Examples: Marvel saw, mill, manual lathe, surface grinder, drill press, etc.)
  • Blueprint Reading
  • 3D Model Interrogation
  • Machining
  • Tooling Inspection
  • Laser Tracking
