About The Position

This role involves operating all Tool Room machines and equipment proficiently, including layout and assembly, in accordance with engineering specifications. The primary function is to construct, repair, maintain, and calibrate shop tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments, patterns, core boxes, machine and equipment parts, furniture, and shipping containers.

Requirements

Proficiently operate all Tool Room machines and equipment, including layout and assembly.
Skillfully use all machinist and pattern maker hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to work to a minimum tolerance of .0001.
Ability to maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition.
Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, including CNC mills, drill presses, saws, planer, sanders, mig, tig, arc and acetylene welding, burn out and edm.
Use all machinist and pattern maker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skillfully.
Fabricate, assemble, construct and repair metal or wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes and dies from prints, sketches or templates.
Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments.
Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .0001.
Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform other job related duties as directed by supervisor.
Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision.
