Requirements
- Ability to read and use hand tools associated with the trade.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings and/or sketches.
- Must be capable of operating standard machine shop equipment, do layout work, make setups, able to do gas and arc welding and all other related operations within the required tolerances.
- Knowledge of shop math necessary to perform the required work assignments within the scope of this job.
- 18 years of age
- Must meet prerequisite job-related test scores.
- Must have a machinist apprenticeship of four years or its equivalent.
- Able to push, pull, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift 30 pounds on a regular basis.
- Pass background check, physical exam, and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Perform tool and die work as assigned.
- Perform all other shop related work as assigned.
- Assist in changeovers and overhauls of all equipment as assigned.
- Emergency repairs on lift trucks and assist in overhauls of same.
- Assist in cable splicing, plumbing, painting of shop and equipment, carpentry, and other related work as assigned.
- Maintains and repairs machine shop equipment as required.
