Tacten is recruiting for a Tool Crib Attendant at their client site, CNRL Albian in Fort McMurray, AB. This hands-on role in a fast-paced industrial environment is essential for ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and readily available for operational needs. Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and inspection.
  • Solid knowledge of basic hand/trade tools, welding equipment, and related machinery.
  • Experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Ability to operate a forklift with a valid permit.
  • Proficiency in computers and Microsoft programs, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work alone when necessary.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required safety training.

  • IATA TDG certification and other safety-related training

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and gear are in good working condition and properly calibrated.
  • Maintain inventory control processes to manage stock levels and high-demand items.
  • Track and dispose of outdated stock while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with conducting routine inspections of rope gear and equipment in compliance with IRATA and PETZL standards.
  • Assist employees in selecting supplies and equipment while monitoring and controlling inventory levels.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO or company-specific quality programs and ensure adherence to proper procedures.
  • Prepare order requisitions and obtain approvals for purchasing materials, equipment, and stock.
  • Reconcile inventory counts and verify receipts against purchase orders.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute goods to the appropriate locations or stock items in the tool crib.
  • Maintain records of orders, including quantity, type, and location of parts and supplies, using a manual or computerized inventory system.
  • Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the tool crib.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and training area.
  • Respond to verbal and electronic service and equipment requests.
  • Manage and schedule the flow of equipment and supplies to and from project sites.
  • Inspect and ensure maintenance needs (recertifications and repairs) are met.
  • Assist supervisors and managers with equipment planning for upcoming projects.
