About The Position

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for inventory control by compiling and maintaining records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment. The attendant will also be responsible for inspecting, issuing, retrieving, and tracking materials and equipment for the production floor.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Experience in an industrial environment with ability of comprehend and troubleshoot production machinery.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to use a variety of measuring tools and test equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment.
• Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects or damage.
• Keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system.
• Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed.
• Sends dull or damaged tooling out for sharpening or repair.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
