About The Position

This role involves the fabrication and repair of a wide variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to very close tolerances. The Tool and Die Maker will be responsible for setting up and operating machine tools, analyzing blueprints, and developing efficient fabrication strategies. A strong emphasis is placed on meeting quality and efficiency expectations while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years of high school/vocational school.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a tool and die environment.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications, including operative sheets, drawings, and sketches.
Demonstrated ability to use shop mathematics, including geometric and trigonometric formulas.
Experience working with close dimensional tolerances and using all types of precision measuring instruments.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an apprentice program is a plus.

Responsibilities

Construct, alter, and repair a wide variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to very close tolerances.
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to machine parts.
Study specifications, engineering blueprints, and tool orders to plan work.
Draw preliminary sketches; prepare layout and detail drawings.
Develop efficient strategies for fabricating designed dies using the most suitable machining resources.
Meet all quality and efficiency expectations while complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean, orderly work area.
