We are looking for a Tool and Die Maker to join the team at our Norridge, IL location. The Norridge location of NSI is a progressive manufacturer of die castings that has been in business for 60+ years, and we look forward to having you join our team! Please note, this is a full-time, 1st shift position (7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday). General Summary: Accountable for the construction and repair of molds per customer and company requirements.
Requirements

- Use of measuring equipment

- Computer knowledge
Responsibilities
- Examine tool/piece part drawing and determine sequence of operations necessary for construction of mold
- Construct mold to customer specifications
- Notify Tool Room Manager when mold needs to be sent out for heat treating, wire burning, jig-grinding, polishing, Blanchard grinding or engraving
- Accountable for inspection of completed mold and completion of steel checklist
- Notify Tool Room Manager when job has been completed and complete New Die Checklist
- Operate CNC, mill, grinder, lathe, saw and EDM machine
- Request necessary supplies such as carbon, cutters, components, etc.
- Complete time tickets for operations performed and enter into the computer at the end of shift, daily
- Notify Tool Room Manager of any quality concerns
- Stop a job when a nonconformance has been detected and notify Tool Room Manager
- Accountable for assigned repair work and completion of associated repair tags
