About The Position

Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE), a joint venture between Worthington Enterprises and Armstrong World Industries, is a leader in the production of suspended ceiling systems, specifically metal ceiling grids. Founded in 1992, WAVE operates under a philosophy rooted in the golden rule, fostering a strong employee-employer partnership. WAVE is currently seeking a Tool and Die Maintenance Technician to join their team. The primary responsibilities of this role involve activities related to press tooling, including modifying and repairing tooling, jigs, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. The technician will also fabricate parts from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions. The position requires training on day shift for the first 90 days, with the regular hours being Monday through Friday, 2:45 PM to 10:45 PM, including some required overtime.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years or more of Tool & Die repair or machine shop experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area

Responsibilities

Repair/refurbish tooling using a variety of machine shop equipment and bench work to maintain close tolerances of +/-.0005”.
Conduct tooling changeover and assist operator in troubleshooting startup and quality specifications.
Perform try-outs on all repaired/refurbished tooling and verify samples meet quality specifications.
Perform basic machine preventive maintenance on machine shop equipment.
Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform all work in a safe manner. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.
Preserve a safe work environment and work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs.
