About The Position

Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE), a joint venture between Worthington Enterprises and Armstrong World Industries, is a worldwide leader in the production of suspended ceiling systems, specifically metal ceiling grids. This position is responsible for activities associated primarily with press tooling, requiring the ability to modify and repair a variety of tooling, jigs, fixtures, and other manufacturing equipment. The technician will also fabricate parts from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years or more of Tool & Die repair or machine shop experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area

Responsibilities

Repair/refurbish tooling using a variety of machine shop equipment and bench work to maintain close tolerances of +/-.0005”.
Conduct tooling changeover and assist operator in troubleshooting startup and quality specifications.
Perform try-outs on all repaired/refurbished tooling and verify samples meet quality specifications.
Perform basic machine preventive maintenance on machine shop equipment.
Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform all work in a safe manner.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.
Preserve a safe work environment and work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs.
