Requirements

  • No childcare experience necessary. We will train on-site.
  • Must love working with children.
  • High school diploma or GED required; early childhood education coursework/CDA preferred.
  • Must meet all state childcare licensing requirements.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Must pass required background checks and complete all required childcare training.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, patient, nurturing, and professional.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with toddlers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, loving, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for toddlers.
  • Actively supervise children at all times, including during classroom activities, meals, diapering, naps, playground time, and transitions.
  • Follow the school's curriculum and prepare age-appropriate learning activities.
  • Engage with children throughout the day through play, conversation, reading, music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
  • Maintain consistent classroom routines and appropriate expectations for toddler behavior.
  • Use positive guidance and redirection; yelling, threatening, shaming, or inappropriate discipline is never acceptable.
  • Change diapers and assist with toilet training according to school and licensing procedures.
  • Follow proper handwashing, sanitation, food-safety, and diapering procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom and sanitize toys, tables, changing areas, and classroom materials as required.
  • Accurately document meals, snacks, diaper changes, naps, activities, incidents, and other required information.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents about their child's day, development, and needs.
  • Immediately report injuries, unusual behaviors, safety concerns, or suspected illness according to school procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with co-teachers, administrators, floaters, and other staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and employees.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, school events, classroom celebrations, and other required activities.
  • Follow all school policies, licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and administrative directions.
  • Be willing to assist in other classrooms or areas of the school when needed.
