Toddler/ One Year Old Class (Assistant Teacher or Lead Teacher)
About The Position
The Currey Ingram Academy Child Development Center is currently accepting applications for a full-time position as an Assistant Teacher or Lead Teacher for the Toddler/ One Year Old Class. The Child Development Center is an Infant -Pre-K childcare program that serves the children of academy faculty and members of the surrounding community. The CDC places an emphasis on outdoor education and offers a dynamic enrichment program that includes gardening, cooking, foreign language, music, and movement. Teachers are provided with the Frogstreet Press curriculum and are supported with a mentor. Preference is given to candidates who have experience working with these specific age groups as well as early childhood education credentials, or their equivalent. General staff responsibilities include overseeing the daily operation of the classroom and working with the other teachers to meet the developmental physical, and emotional needs of the children. Teachers are expected to manage the classroom with positive behavioral expectations. Our program is not specialized for specific learning needs, and a background in special education is not required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in childcare classroom (Lead Teacher)
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with toddlers/one-year-olds
- Early childhood education credentials, or their equivalent
- Bachelor's degree, particularly in the areas of early childhood education, child development, or social work (Lead Teacher)

- Supporting supervision of children (Assistant Teacher)
