Part-Time Toddler Nanny Job in Sunnyvale, CA |Afternoon Childcare Position
About The Position
We are a close-knit, conscientious family seeking a part-time toddler nanny for afternoon childcare. The role involves providing warm, consistent, educational, and fun afternoons for an 18-month-old daughter as she transitions to daycare. The ideal candidate will be patient, playful, proactive, and enjoy engaging with toddlers through various activities. Responsibilities include attentive toddler care, meal and snack preparation, supporting learning and development, occasional daycare pickup, and household support such as laundry, dishes, and garbage removal. The nanny will work alongside a parent who may be working remotely from home and should be comfortable with three small dogs. This is a minimum 1-year contract position with potential for continuation.
Requirements
- 5 years of nanny experience, including strong toddler experience.
- Confident supporting an active 18-month-old through meals, play, transitions, and occasional pushback.
- Pediatric CPR certification required or must be obtained.
- Clean driving record.
- Reliable personal vehicle.
- High level of comfort communicating in English.
- Comfortable around small dogs.
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene.
- Willing to work when the child is mildly ill.
- Comfortable with a parent working remotely from home.

Responsibilities
- Provide attentive toddler care, including play, reading, and problem-solving activities.
- Prepare simple meals and snacks for the child.
- Support age-appropriate learning and development.
- Occasionally assist with daycare pickup.
- Perform household support tasks such as washing and folding laundry for the child and parent, putting away the child's clothes, staying on top of dishes, cleaning up after food preparation, and taking out the garbage.
- Proactively communicate when household or child-related supplies are running low.
- Accompany the child for short visits with a nearby grandparent.
- Be comfortable around three small family dogs.
